Here are a couple pics the ground is a little metal strap on the top bolt that mounts the motor to the firewall. Pics are crappy but it is the best I could do. I only know about this strap cause it has bitten me before.

Thanks Bill! I might go take a peek at it on my lunch break. I hate electrical gremlins! Only because I'm no electrician .

I only found that strap by accident I thought my motor was bad also. I got a new one and just by luck the switch and key were on. When I went to loosen the bolt it started running. I took the new motor back lol...

Well see the clip looking "ground" that you're pointing to in the pictures but, I was able to watch the arm of the motor twitch when I switched the wipers on and off. I'm starting lean towards needing a new motor. I'll probably find out just like you, Bill, once I buy a new motor and have to return the new one lol. Seems like a lot of things start to give up around 20-21 years of service

Try using a jumper wire from the wiper motor to ground.

Without that ground strap there is no ground for the motor cause it is mounted in rubber to give it a little flex

That I understand but the with the motor twitching makes me wonder if it's the motor itself. Unless it just so happens to get power and lose it quickly.

I have also had some luck turning them on and yanking a little on the wiper arm. It will move the motor a little. some times it will help it find a ground and start working. I have gotten mad when yanking a little on the wiper didn't work and ripped the wiper off the truck. Don't do that it will only cost you more money lol. I have the worst luck with the wipers on these old trucks. If you say you can see the motor flex a little are you sure you got all the linkage back together right? Maybe it is jamming up somewhere. Have they made a full rotation and parked again since you put the bushings in?

I might try pulling the linkage from the motor when I get home and see if the motor will still function. I'll wait for it to "return" and then I'll see where the linkages line up with the wipers down. When the linkage broke free from the motor, the wipers were stuck in the up position. I pushed them back down manually. I'm sure the motor would've "returned" when it was switched off.

But since you got it all back together have they ever made a full rotation? Or did it quit the first time you tried them?

They went up and stopped there when I first tried them. No full rotation.

I bet the linkage is put together wrong and hitting itself somewhere. There is one part I put together wrong when I did mine but I realized it before I got it in the truck. But now I cant remember what my goof was.

I put it all back in just the way it came out. I made sure to pay attention to that. I'm thinking that I hooked them up with the motor on the wrong "stroke." Can you by chance take a picture or maybe even a video of the arm on the motor while it operates?

Make sure where it goes to the motor if you had that link off the motor that the pin that sticks out of the arm is facing away from the motor.

I left the arm bolted to the motor. I didn't see a need to remove it to install the bushings.
