ok so im thinking about starting to eather build a long bed reg cab cummins or drop the cummins in my 1990 club cab
i found a guy that is willing to sell me some 3.4 tone axles the back is a dana 60 with 4:10s and the front is a dana 44 with 4:10s the tranny is a nv4500 for a 360 magnum will this tranny work on a cummins with a plate the only down fall is that this guy said the tranny is worth 900 bucks. I am not sure if that is right. and will the dana 44 hold up the the power of the moter and weight

I do not know a bunch about these trucks, but my 90 3/4 ton has dana 70 rear and 60 front. I am pretty sure that the dana 44 is not the heavy duty axle that the 60 is. Mark

The dana 60 might hold up in the back but the 44 will not hold the weight of that cummins for long. Also that trans is not worth 900. A diesel one might be worth that but a gas nv4500 is not worth much. You can use it behind the cummins but the input shaft needs to be changed.

you can get dana 70 rears for cheap (compared to dana 80's and such) so i wouldnt use the 60 in my opinion. i wouldnt use the 44 at all. they barely hold up to abuse in gas engines.
