the hx will have a little larger compressor wheel and it will also have a smaller exhaust housing. It's a better turbo if you're getting it cheap, or free.

WH1C

WH1C and HX35 are practically the same turbo....WH1C goes together differently than the HX35.

THey both will have 56mm compressors...and 12cm w/g exhaust housings.

WH1C came on 94 and early 95 trucks....96+ is sure to have the hx35.

Dont avoid a wh1c...pretty much the same turbo.

hm, I didn't know the WH1C had anything different on it over a regular old H1C except the wastegate. You learn something new every day.

A '91 doesn't have a WH1C stock, it has an H1C.

i'm tempted to find a cheap hx-35 or wh1c (since apparently their the same) in good shape to throw on mine for a small upgrade for now while i save for a super 40 or s300

Yea the WH1c is wastegated that's actually what the W stands for. The difference between the H1c and the Wh1c besides the wastegate is also the compressor side the H1c compressor wheel is slightly smaller and the compressor housing also doesn't have the MWE slot (map width enhancement slot) as for the Wh1c has the slot and is what the silencer ring covers. But the HX35 and WH1c are pretty much the same for the most part.

Its not wastegated but his tag on his turbo says H1C. He bought it about a year ago with that same turbo and it was a one owner and it was a little old ladies truck. His WH1C doesnt have the silencer ring like mine did (M.I.A ), but his compressor wheel and housing are the same as mine. I use to have the little H1C on my 90 so i could tell if it was a "baby" H1C or not and it isnt. strange....

If its not wastgated and it says H1C on the tag and the inlet is bigger than your old baby h1c then it sounds like an h1c off an I/C truck. either way its nothing special, just a stock turbo.

what housing does it have?
