valet switch

What does a valet switch do? I've read the sticky and it didn't really explain what it was for. I've done a search and it appears it's supposed to help your mileage somehow, but I'm not sure. Could someone explain it please?

It does not let the boost pressure move the fuel pin which in turn doesn't allow for "full fuel. Hope that helps.
