using a toogle switch to see if o/d still works help
my O/D stoped working i seen in a couple posts you find the blue and white wires at the back of the tranny run a ground to see if you can get the o/d to work i was wondering if i could get some detailed info on how to do this any info would help also if this works could i just keep the toogle to switch into o/d
The blue wire is power, the other wire (usually orange I think) gets grounded by the PCM when it thinks OD should be engaged.
What you want to do is splice into that ground wire so you can ground the OD solenoid yourself. An easy way to do it is to strip about an inch of insulation off the end of a piece of wire and clip off all but about 3 or 4 strands. Stuff that thin wire up into the OD solenoid plug and plug it back in. Then run your new wire to a switch, and run a wire from your switch to a good ground.
It won't hurt anything to run a toggle switch indefinitely, but it's kind of a pain in the butt.
