I'm not much of a turbo expert, but there are a LOT of posts on here about them. Do a little searching and you will learn a lot.

gray93,
POD's flow a good amount of fuel. For usable horsepower, I would opt for something with a 4" exhaust outlet. An upgrade is almost like a temporary fix. If you can afford it, get a 62-14 w/ a 71mm exhaust wheel. If you do decide on a 60mm upgrade such as the Stage IV, you may or may not have EGT issues with POD's as your pump tuning will affect that; get a custom set of injectors with the correct spray pattern if you go that route. I am running pod's and pump tweaked. I am looking at the hx40/16cm wastgated. I think a 14cm wastgated would be fine and am also considering that route. I haven't actually run it so this isn't a ton of help I know. Just talked to a few folks. I do have a 16cm non-wastegate w/ stock compressor and it made a world of diff. over the stock housing.

It all depends on how much money you want to spend. The HX40 will flow more air and keep EGTs in check better than a stage4 kit. How much, I dont know. Keep in mind that with bigger wheels on each side, the 40 will spool slower than a stock or stage4'ed turbo.
What kind of EGTs/ boost do you see now? I wouldnt get too anxious about turbo upgrades unless your EGTs get out of hand, or you top 30psi with the stock turbo. Daniel |
