turbo drain hose
turbo drain hose
Because of a part I am installing, I need to re-route my turbo drain hose. Luckily, I had two of them, and was able to cut the two up and get enough bends to weld one up that took the right route back to the sump.
The problem is that in order to make the final connection back to the sump, I need a hose with a 90 degree bend in it......and will hold up to high temp oil.
I have looked high and low, and cannot find edit. I was figuring I'd walk up to the parts counter and walk away with it in my hands....no friggin luck with that.
Any ideas?

So you understand how the oil returns to the block/oil pan, I will explain it to you. The only way oil gets back to the oil pan from your turbo is by gravity. When you have a under sized oil drain or 90 degree turn in line the oil backs up in the turbo and goes out the compressor and turbine side piston rings inside the turbo causing the turbo to smoke and then fail. The oil return must be free flowing and unrestricted.
Source Automotive ( http://www.sourceautomotive.biz/index.php ) sells a flexible oil drain hose and flange assembly so that is one option.
