Truck sounds "blah", no rattle...

So I ran my friends 93 and it has that nice crisp cummins rattle and smooth idle sound. Mine on the other hand sounds like there is air leaking everywhere and not very smooth. This is my first time owning a 1st Gen and I have done some reading in the past hour but can anybody help me explain how my KSB should be hooked up?? Evern when the truck is warm, it stills doesn't sound like a healthy engine. The VE does have several fuel leaks but I doubt that is the case. Please help!

Could have a blown boot from the turbo to the crossover pipe. Or a bad gasket on the intake cover. Is the fan clutch bad? It will make it sound like a jet engine any time you give it any throttle.

Nope, I will hit 20lbs of boost until the governor hits. Fan clutch works great. I have done more reading and it sounds like I just may need a good ole tune up with fresh oil/filter, fuel filter, clean the fuel tank, and run some additives through it.

Well after digging into the injection pump last night for some mild tuning, I noticed it was extremely dirty and the fuel smelled stale. I don't think it was drove much in the past several months from the previous owner. So I am gonna run it dry on fuel and clean the tank, blow out the lines, fuel filter, and run a good additive in it on a fresh fill up and see where it goes from there. I will check the valves in the mean time as well.
