truck dies after hard acceleration
truck dies after hard acceleration
Truck died today for the second time. It runs fine, but when I accelerate in a hard pull and get out of the throttle quickly, the truck dies. Then I have to pump the hand primer and crank for a long time with it wide open until it finally starts to hit on a couple cylinders. Then eventually it clears up and runs fine. Has anyone had any issues like this before? The only recent change is the piston LP. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
It's common for our trucks, when turned up, to do this.
Winding it up at wide-open throttle while under load, then side-stepping the throttle (snap closed) has some of the cylinder's compression stroke, back up into the injectors . .. basically binding them with air. The only fix is to loosen the injector feed lines, at the injector and burp the air out. Doing the first three injectors is usually enough to start the engine. It'll stumble a little till the others are cleared of air.
The only way to prevent it from happening is to learn to roll-off the throttle instead of side-stepping it.
