transmission options

what other tranny swaps have you guy heard of besides the 47rh and the nv4500. 2 years ago a guy was sellin a ranger with a 4bt/ford ZF 5spd. after doin some research im finding out for the cost of the build for my 727, could be put towards something with an overdrive or a 5spd. any ideas or options? i found a ford zf 5spd out of a 91 f350 diesel.
Thanks

Not sure, i know its a good trans, 300,000 on a 95 powerstoke truck i looked at a few weeks ago. the trans was just starting to act up.

I'm not sure about the torque limit on it though, i think its not quite the torque limit of a nv4500.

rusty250, the cummins to ZF adapter is gonna be about $700. figured in that cost with EVERYTHING else you'll need for the coversion, don't forget about the pedals, hydraulics, bellhousing, trans, everything you'll need to do a successful auto to 5 speed swap.
