Just returned from a short trip and I hear a ticking sound coming from the valve cover. I think it could be a valve out of adjustment. What does anyone think it could be ?

Could be a loose valve. Easy way to rule it out is to run the valves when you get a chance. An injector that's popping early will make a different sound, too, since it affects the timing in that cylinder. I've given up worrying about noises under my hood....it'll change from day to day, but always runs great. Once the t-stat opens, the loud pedal goes down

 

Yeah, I'm with Mr. G. I'm still chasing down a noise...been a year now. As long as there isn't oil/coolant/tranny fluid mixed anywhere, mpg's are decent, and I still lead the pack once the light turns green, I'm a happy dude!
