Storeing Engine???

I would like to know what to do to my 5.9ctd to store it for a long period of time.I have one out of my totalled 92,the engine still runs but i would like to store it,at least until i can sell it.
I have heard people say that you take the injectors out and fill the cylinders with motor oil,if so what grade of oil is best.
Thank-you
Lee

Seal the turbo inlet and the exhaust with duct tape to keep the mice out. Tape shut all of the open lines and water ports and plug the opening of the fuel lines. This keeps those nasty mud nest building bees out. If possible keep it in an enclosed area such as you garage or outdoor shed. Don't wrap it tightly with plastic unless you have it in a heated area as this highly promotes condensation if it is subject to temperature swings. Also grease all threaded opening to prevent the mud nest bees from filling them up with mud. Filling the cylinders with oil is not a good idea in my opinion. I had a tractor with a 3 cylinder Hercules diesel that sat for seven years in my shed. It never locked up and all I had to do to get it running was drain the fuel and change the fuel filter and it fired right up. Keep it dry and under a roof and keep the vermin out. It will fire right up in a year or two.
