Steering Wheel Woe

My 93 steering wheel has slipped a quarter turn. What should I look for as the cause? A couple ago I put a new clockspring in and had the wheel squared up.

Unless the splines are worn-out, I can't see a steering wheel "slipping" on the shaft.

What I figure is that you have some component of the steering that has failed, thus causing the wheel to lose center.

Anything under there can cause it.

Also, any raising or lowering of the front suspension, either intentional or from breakage/sagging, will also re-clock the wheel.

You should carefully examine that Borgeson, as the set-screw may have backed out, but that would have most likely just let it turn completely loose.

I would for sure find what caused it, before driving it anywhere, as it could start driving itself with you just going along for the ride.

Pull the horn button and look at the wheel right at the nut. There was a recall where the wheel broke right at the splines. Just a thought.
