Spring length front axle

I am in the process of swapping my D250 to 4wd and I am looking to use a set of leaf springs out of the junkyard until I can afford a set of atlas springs. I know I need a 2.5 inch wide spring but what is the length of the spring should I be looking for in my local pick a part to hold me over until then. I have fab skills and a great welder. I can build the mounts and shackles but I don't wanna buy springs that are too long or too short. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if this has been gone over. I used the search and didn't see what I was looking for.

Btw my truck is a 91.5 D250 and I bought a Dana 60 out of a 91 dodge W250

Wow this site never disappoints. Should I get the 1750 lb spring or the 1900 lb for under the heavy cummins. I don't wanna buy a set that will sag right away. Thanks again!

my stock ones have 6 leaves so I would go with the 1900#

I got my bolts at Summit racing. They should have the blocks too.

I purchase my ubolts from a local truck shop. They make them on site and are cheaper after shipping costs. Might want to check around.

Some people do the rear shackle flip to gain a few inches instead of blocks. Depending how you plan to use the truck, that might be worth looking into.

I was asking my dad about that. I always like to consult for wisdom of older gentleman. Lol I think I'm just gonna pick up a set of blocks and run those until I can afford to do atlas springs on all four corners. That way I can lift her and get a nice set of parabolics at the same time. This swap is just getting the truck back on the road. Upper A Arm on driver side took a dump so it's fix a 2wd or just use it as a reason to talk the wife into a 4wd swap. (So glad she doesn't like forums). Lol

No I haven't got that far yet. I am still working on getting mine on the road.

I ordered a set last night. I'll post what I think of them. Thanks again Mark!
