Should I or should I not?

Theres a 92 3/4 ton 2wd for sale for $1500 near me. rebuilt tranny, newer clutch, and rebuilt rear end. Body has a few dents but seems ok, 306K miles though not sure if thats good or bad. Its a club cab as well, I would really like a 5spd truck but don't want to cut my current one open. Has nice wheels as well.

Suggestions or should I pass and spend the money for a gear vendors for my truck cause 3spds suck.

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal. At the very least, you could part it and make a profit.

My 5 spd 4x4 '90 1 ton has a Gear Vendors, Getrag 5 speed and 3.54:1 axles. I love it! 2000 RPM at 72MPH. 20+ MPG.

If I get it I would have to sell my truck though, no space for 2 trucks really but I think a 5spd would be worth it and its intercooled, club cab. Only thing that worries me is the 300K miles on the engine. I know the Cummins is tough but thats a good amount.

300k is no sweat. If it starts up easy, runs smooth, and has oil pressure it's likely good for another 300k.

Listen for the squeek when you shut it down after test driving it. If it squeeks, it's got a tight motor (and good belt).

Well, I think I might buy it. Trying to setup a time to go check it out just not sure what I will do if I like it. I don't have a trailer and if I rent one my truck doesn't have a working trailer brake controller and I've never towed anything in my life but I'm sure I could figure it out pretty easily been around people that tow.

Its a good 1 1/2 drive, I'm trying to see if someone will drive me up there so I can drive it back or have someone ride in my car and drive it back while I drive the truck back.

You could always set up your car with a hitch(if it doesn't already have one) rent and pull a car dolly up there, then tow your car back on the dolly.
You would save on gas by your car not have to drive back.(Offset by the cost of possibly having to rent a dolly of course )

Edit: Looks like about $40 to rent a U-Haul dolly

What do you have for a car?

Little Toybota Corolla. I also found a Club cab truck for $4000 thats a 4x4 but a 4spd auto I sent them an email offering them $3000 they said they would take it. Seems to have about the same mileage as the other one. 4x4 would be nice.

Wonder how much my truck is worth when I go to sell it.

I'm thinking of keeping the turbo and the BHAF, the manifold is too much of a pain to get off because the ATS one uses hex bolts so they are a pain so I'll probably just leave it and the exhaust. With the club cab truck I'm thinking 4" dp and stacks this time.
