should I?
should I?
I am new to diesel trucks and have recently bought a 93 ctd club cab. Of course, now I want more power. I have already put a k&n filter on, now I am thinking about a 31/2 or 4 " exhaust. Should I put gauges on first or can I put the exhaust on and not worry about egt's. Money is kind of tight for now. I'm pulling a fifth wheeler to Pigeon Forge in June and don't want to wind up in the shop, for a dumb move. The fifth wheel weighs about 4500#, 1987 24.5' jayco. Thanks guy's
Re:should I?
Welcome to the site msthomas! While gauges should be on the top of your list, you should be okay if all you will be doing for now is exhaust and air mods since these will help EGT's. However, I would suggest you purchasing at least a boost gauge and a pyro before any fuel mods are considered. This not only warns you of any potential danger that may exist, but also gives you a number baseline to go by when adding fuel, injectors, etc.
Re:should I?
Thanks for the info guy's. Now where can I find someone who sells a 4" exhaust. I have called most of the muffler shops in Nashville and no one can bend pipe over 3". I have also tried the auto parts shops they do not carry 4" exhaust. I didn't know, trying to buy an exhaust system, would be so exhausting. Thanks for any referrals.
