Semi-Erratic Tranny shifting

Hey fellas, Newb here. Been reading the forum for a couple weeks since becoming the proud owner of a 91.5 D250 Auto. My question is this, My truck has been converted to a potentiometer and I can adjust where it shifts to a point. It seems like even fully adjusted though it still shifts early in most cases, especially when cold. Even after warming up and driving around if shifts into 3rd at around 30 and into O/D at 40 mph even at WOT. I believe it should hold out a bit longer than that, I could be wrong. Any feedback on whether I should try a different potentiometer or just go back to a TPS? Any other adjustments to make? Thanks in advance

Mike

First off, and Grats on your purchase.

The potentiometer only controls the shift point of the Overdrive. You are able to control, by adjusting the Pot, when it shifts into OD. However, it won't matter if WOT or not tho, as it will be a fixed (permanent) shift point.

Here is some other info as far as shift point adjusting, etc.
