I miss my sachs, loved the way it felt. Until my throw out bearing went out. Had 150,000 miles on that clutch and still have over 50% life left. Do you have a part number from rock auto?

Valair sells one that looks exactly like the one in the center. I can't imagine it holding that much power with only 6 buttons.

the 1st one looks odd I guess because it's kevlar, the 3rd one looks like the standard one that came stock in these trucks.

The third one is listed as having an optional "HD" disk. Looks the same but claims to be an "Optional Kit/Heavy Duty Disc"

Here is the picture of the "standard one that came in our trucks"

Notice the center of the disk, there looks like a difference.

Here they all are below:

I'm ordering the HD one from rock auto, was on sale for 290

I looked on Valair's website crossy son, I did not see any 13" clutch sets like the middle one with the Sachs CAST IRON cover. Only junk stamped stuff.

It says right on the page with all the 5 speed clutches

"We no longer offer replacement Getrag clutches", They recently did that because a month ago when we were looking for a clutch for the 92 I was on their site looking around.

They had a Stock Sachs setup and then they had a Sachs PP that came with a ceramic button disc that they claimed would hold 400hp.

That sucks. Glad Sachs starting making more clutches though, Don't see them phasing out anytime soon. 2 years ago it was very hard to find an OEM sachs setup. wish that Kevlar Sachs one was around back when i did my clutch. I really like my Kevlar setup but i like the light pedal effort of the Sachs PP

Just went out in the shed and looked and all 4 Sachs clutches i Have are all the OEM looking ones with the little springs in the center of the disc, the new "HD" one appears to have large rivets in the center. Pretty cool.

I'm glad to see we have more than one choice now. I'm not against aftermarket clutches but they don't seem to work as well as an OEM.

I love the way mine works, But i paid pretty good for it too. I wish the Sachs PP had a little more clamping force but I can't ask for something that's not necessary on a stock truck. Didn't take much Tweaking to slip my sachs clutch and i had a 6spd flywheel already here cut, that's why i went that route.

I tried those part #'s on RA but won't show any parts and the Sachs clutch kit is still $436 +/-. Are this kits still on sale?

Thanks.

Sorry Exekiel when I purchased my HD kit it said "only 1 left" so I got the last one. Maybe they will get more in later. I did notice that ebay has the HD ones for cheap as well.

Oh well, they can always put them on sale again, that is a great deal for sure. Mine is always a bit hard to get in 1st and reverse unless it is moving, I thought after 250k miles the pressure plate isn't depressing the clutch all the way anymore (clutch looked good to Me last time I pulled it) and the engine turns enough to make it a bit hard plus mine a sort of a hybrid ford master dodge slave (also 250k miles on it) so I thought I would change this things and see if that helps at all.

Thanks.

hey-Hey!!!,
I put a Luk 05-101 HO/ETH chutch in the 1990. takes a 1.375 input shaft so no G360 need apply. It is a very smooth clutch, equal to the Sachs I've driven with G360's and likely tolerant of a bit more power ( OE was 245 hp ). It is a bit of a reach for even the NV4500 apps, but if it has to be smooth...it is a possible sol'n.
cheers,
Douglas

The Sachs HD Clutch and Sachs Flywheel got here:

The flywheel Even came with a HD BALL bearing. Flywheel looks good (but made in China) it is at the machine shop getting bored for the ball bearing.

The Clutch Set was made in Mexico
