PS IC install without Ac and using coolertubz?
PS IC install without Ac and using coolertubz?
Anyone install a PS IC and not have AC? I am installing mine with coolertubz and find the IC fits best upside down but that the coolertubz are too long. I read someone else who had this problem and he cut the tub shorter.
Curious what anyone else has done or found?

I think that was me. I flipped the inter-cooler upside down to make the tubes work right with the angles. I had to trim them back behind the beads that were already made. I made new beads somehow... can't remember now! hahaha. I either used a punch and made a bead, or I welded a bead around it.... Now my new job has a nice bead roller... doh!
And, I used the inter-cooler in front of the a/c condenser, so I don't know why they were so long....
Oh yeah: I had to trim my triangular support, and I tilted the cooler forward so I could get my secondary hood latch to engage right. I also trimmed the latch. I'll dig up some pictures. I also had to trim some small pieces of plastic on the back of the grill, and dent out the valance trim that runs along the bottom of the inter-cooler above the bumper.
I mounted it higher than some I think:

I tilted the inter-cooler forward, so I had to trim the latch as such:

Best shot I have of it tilting forward. hard to see:

I had to trim these knubs off the grill:

Obviously widen the holes for the inter-cooler as I'm sure you know by now. I used pieces of air hose cut in half lengthwise as chafe guards in case my A/C condenser was to touch anything:

I spaced the intercooler, condenser, and the rad. support with these rubber isolated mounts I made from air hose and tubing. I made the air hose longer than the tubing to allow a little bit of soft mounting.... idk if it mattered:

The ol' lady got if for me for my birthday or Christmas. Probably the handiest tool I have! I think she got it at Northern Tool or one of those similar sights. It folds up so you can stow it in the corner to boot. I use that thing all the time. No more sore chest or knees from the radiator support.
