Anyone running a HX35 over a S400? We've been discussing putting twins on my truck and were pondering this setup. Any thoughts or objections?

I have heard of two or three people using this set up and they really like it. Really fast spool up, and can handle a bit of power. I'm not positive if they were running it on a 1st Gen though...

I got lucky on the oil feed line. I was able to take everything with the turbo, oil line and fittings. The fitting from the 855 screwed right into the filter housing on the 5.9. You need a fitting that is 1/8" NPT male to whatever line you use. Make sure you use 3/8" line to feed it. Most people just get a hydraulic hose made.

On the drains, as long as both lines go downhill all the way to the nipple in the block, it should work fine. If it is too low, you will have to add a drain to the oil pan, above the normal oil level.

Found a pic:

Works great on a 2nd Gen.
RIP, at Source Automotive has sold the kits for this set up for yrs.
I've driven two with HX-35/S400 and they work as well as my BD twins. Run just as cool also...up to 600 hp and 65 psi boost.

It has an HX40 inlet so if you plan on running an HX35, you'll need a simple adaptor.

With some Scheid 6x.06 EDM and a maxed 12mm VE, yesterdays 8.23 1/8th mile pass had the EGT's no higher than 1500*F @ 55psig boost (with a ported head, cam, big IC, etc). :)

The 3b/40 over 3b setup works darn good, and your under the hood pics are outstanding. Nice work.

That turbo is off of either a 6v92 or a 8v92. If that is of any help to you.

That's good to know, seem to be what I'm looking for. Plus I have an S400 and a 60mm HX35, so this winter I think I'll start the piping. Thanks for the pointing me toward Source, I'll give them a call for info.
