PATC transmissions

Has anyone ever purchased a tranny from Performance Auto Transmission Center? How did it work out?

I think Head runs a PATC trans with a Suncoast TC. He'll probably chime in.

I haven't heard anything bad about them, but I have seen a mildly built Dmax (550 rwhp) smoke one of their intermediate level Allison kits that was rated to hold the power. May have been a fluke, or they just might not build good Allison kits.

Most likely it was a 5 speed Allison. The 5 speed you have to pay extra for a few upgraded parts that come stock in the 6 speed version. So even with a mild performance build, these parts will be your limitation. The upper end build kits for the 5 speeds include the upgrades. I know because I have a 05' LLY with the 5 speed and use Mike L for all my Allison questions.

I know a couple guys on PT.net who run trans from this company in their gasser trucks and have had good luck with service. My buddy with a 04' Tahoe turbocharged managed to burn thru a tq convertor and they stepped right up and took care of him.

Yeah I got one. I have a few trans issues right now but I don't think it's the fault of the transmission. I blame the Suncoast Valve body. I should have got the PATC valve body to go with their transmission.

The truck with the PATC was an LBZ (sixer). Check my sig...I'm familiar (to say the least) with Ally internals. It wasn't a 5/6 speed part difference issue, trust me.
