painting stainless

I'm painting all the trim pieces on my crewcab project black. The only thing left that isn't black are the dodge tripod mirrors. Is it possible to paint stainless steel and have good results? I don't want to bother if it'll start peeling right away. I'm assuming I would have to use a good acid etching primer first.

CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN, Then PRIME PRIME PRIME. It will hold. But CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. No rust at all......

Me personally, Sherwin Williams makes a really nice enamel that can be sprayed. I would stop in there and talk to them.

Nice rig kenny. Acetone is good but i have been told the cheaper the lacquer thinner the more stuff they mix into it and the more it 'eats'. I do alot of lacquer (ML Campbell) and enamel (Sherwin Williams) spraying on metal and wood, and i use the cheapest lacquer thinner they sell. Saves the hands not using straight acetone too....
