painting door handles and other small parts.

im trying to remove all the chrome im going to paint all the parts black of match the truck with them. what i want to kno is how are you guys removing all of the chrome or can i just scuff it with some 220. then prime it and slap some paint on it.

pretty caustic job, they use lye, and acid to remove and prep metal, 2 other options, powdercoat is very durable to abuse, especially at the door handle,last to prep for paint, i would bead blast the metal to prep for paint or powdercoat, if your painting, use metal etch primer, or what ever is necessary for your paint system for correct adhesion, painting is a lot more work done right, and still very vulnerable.
