no start

well i got all the valves adjusted using the timing pin and instructions from the sticky, and it still cranks very slowly, what do i check next? and yes the voltage drop is from the battery while cranking

So if the battery says 12.8v before cranking it is down to about 8 volts during cranking?

Also these engines don't really whip around like a gas. How slow is it turning over?

that is correct, those numbers are exact, it will turn once slowly then stop while holding the key, and then maybe another turn after a pause

did you beat on the starter to see if the contacts are sticking?
did you check the starter relay on the fender?

no i didnt beat on it, but its a brand new starter, i checked that relay and didnt see any corrosion, whats the little wire coming off the starter?

its the wire that feeds/trips the solinoid to ingauge the starter, it comes from the key

try jumping across the big wire to the small wire on the starterse what that does

well its not the electiral system to the starter then i dont think, have you tried haveing a batt, charger on it and cranking it?, is it a auto or stick truck?
recheck the grounds also mainly the one on the block and make sure the batt cables are clean and have good contact, might be worth trying again

yeah tried the battery charger, its an auto, one battery is grounded to the frame, the other is above the fender, are those bad locations? by the way i just noticed your location, i got my pickup from power motors in sublimity, got a decent deal on it too, any more of em down there?

these came stock with one battery, it should have one cable, large size going to the block under/near the vacume pump,and a small wiregoin to the core support.

they might have more trucks out there, dont know, i got my blue truck from washington, so i bought mine up there and you got yours down here

yeah the main one had only the small ground, so i put a big one to the frame, anyways a mechanic is coming to look on monday, so i'll post what what the deal is when he gets it running

there is a big on on the block right? if not put the one off the frame on the block and see what happens

no, there was only a small one to the support, when i got it i just added the big one to the frame, im leaving for NH tomorrow at 7 so i really cant do anything anymore
