Need help

Just finished up a head gasket on my 92 w250ctd figuring that would solve my oil in coolant problem. Got it running tonight and it appears that it is still pouring oil into coolant. I have read some things about faulty oil coolers. Could that really be the problem? I need some good advice here.

Well if it's an auto it has a heat exchanger under the exhaust manifold it is inplace of a frost plug. It transfers heat from the transmission fluid to the engine coolant. It works the same way as the transmission coolers that gm used to have in there radiator tanks. So if that leaked I could see transmission fluid getting in there.

It's a 5 speed. It seems to run strong and sound fine it's just sending oil into the coolant. That's a problem!

Uhhhh Okay that's weird all I could say is a cracked block or head then but I don't wanna get you replacing your motor if that's not the problem. So you replaced the head gasket and it's still doing it? Did you clean all the bits of old gasket off.

Not trying to make you sound stupid just trying to help figure it out.

Just finished up installing a new oil cooler and all the gaskets. Believe it or not it seems to have fixed it. I would have never thought that that miniature radiator thing could cause such havoc and god awful mess. It needed the headgasket too so it wasn't a complete waste of time doing that. And no I did not take offense to the gasket scraping comment. I spent hours upon hours cleaning and scraping. Thanks for the feedback guys. My wonderful 92 has just been given new life and seems to be running strong with better oil pressure. 218,000 miles and counting.
