Mystery connector on rear diff

Saw a wire dangling near the rear diff, did some investigating, found an (empty) connector on the top of the diff, a little left of center. Anyone know what it is?

Thanks,
CR

If I'm reading this right, that should be your ABS sensor. There's a tone ring behind the ring gear in the differential, and that sensor uses it as a reference for the ABS system.

Thanks, G1625S,

It seems just about everything related to the ABS has been disconnected on this truck, so I guess it's no wonder that I didn't seem to be "missing" anything even though this was not connected.
