Lugnuts

I was putting my wheel back on the other day and noticed that the lugnuts seemed to be small and that they were going mighty far into the rim and possibly bottoming out... These are supposedly Ford wheels and have ACCURIDE 31972 and a date of 3-19-94 stamped on each of them... Is there a bigger lugnut that should have been installed when these wheels were put on? They have never given any trouble. Thanks

Hey Rockfoot:
I do not know the answer to your question, but here's a suggestion: when I was looking for lugnuts for my truck, I ended up talking with someone at Prestigewheel phone number 800 854 6770, who was quite helpful. This company also has a website www.prestigewheel.com that has diagrams and measurements of all the lugnuts they distribute. Hope that will help you.

It's probably because dodge uses 1/2 lugs while ferd would have had 9/16 or 14mm. The diameter of the taper is smaller, but the same angle, on a dodge lug nut

To use them you will have to upgrade lug studs. Ferd and Chevy use 9/16 or 14mm threads depending on year.
