loose door handles

Has anyone out there had loose door handles. I can actually see that the metal behind the handle seal is cracked or torn. Looks like someone was hangin off it. Any suggestions? I haven't been inside the door yet.

Yeah. Sometimes breaking up with an old girlfriend is hard to do.

Get in there and take the handle off and see what needs to be done to repair the metal. Maybe a good welder can weld the sheet metal and grind it down for you then get it painted and re-install the handle.

When I bought my truck the door would only open if you lifted up on the door handle while pushing in on the button.
I fixed the proble by taking it all apart and puting a huge washer on the bolt that holds the handle. Tightened it up and sealed off the cracks with clear caulking. Works like a charm to this day. BTW, I can now grab the handle and rock the truck around without fear of breaking something.
