Lift spring install and steering question

I have BFG 285 75 on the truck. With the stock springs the steering was good and the truck did not wander. Now with a 4" Skyjacker setup the steering wanders a little. Any thing to fix this or is it just the big tires?

Thanks!

You'll need a 4" drop pitman arm and an adjustable drag link. I'd install a steering stabilizer too; probably a dual setup would be better.

Aloha,
Matt

With only a 4 in lift I wouldnt go to a drop pitman arm just yet I would install dual stablizer's forsure thou and if you can I would also do a crossover steering conversion that way you get rid of that worthless draglink .I had 39's on my crewcab and it was easy to drive .

Did your 4" front lift include a wedge to lift the pinion. Many do in order to ease the shaft to pinion angle and to shorten the distance from the pinion to the transfer case so you can get away with reusing your original front drive line.

This wedge will accomplish both those tasks, but it also deletes most of your factory castor. The castor is what makes your wheels return to straight ahead when you let go of the wheel. Almost every lifted truck I have driven, has a little bit of almost-straight-ahead wander. The sabilizer will slow things down to make it less twitchy, but to get the "factory" ride back you may need to either remove the wedges, ir clock the Inner "C"s.
