intercooler

Does anyone know if anybody is making a replacement intercooler for our trucks? Not a chop your truck up to make it fit one but a direct replacement.

I looked before I cut mine up and could find one. They may be out there but not in any of the normal places I look.

You can get Griffin to make you want, but it might be pricey. I was thinking about having them build a PS intercooler for mine. It'd be nice to have a known leak free IC.

Hellman is another outlet.

I am really not a fan of the PS intercooler there just as many drawbacks as gains IMO the reason it's popular is the low cost if you can install it yourself(cost/need for new intercooler are the sole reasons I have one). Fitment causes all the drawbacks. First if you value your time install with average tools is a couple days so that's a lot. The other thing is the lower 3 rows don't cool and pass hot air directly to the engine likely erasing most of the gains from size. They do have larger tubes but that only helps if you have the other tubes upgraded too. If you were to go the custom built rout I defiantly would go proper size with 3" in/outs. (I am not an expert just what I see from my PS install)

I did find a spearco that looked to be a direct fit if cost isn't an issue they where in the 1200 range and I didn't check to make sure they are a bolt in(because I'm not broke and need to finish my truck now).

PDR used to have one on their web site but it's not there anymore. Might be worth a call or email.

Wow, such a debbie downer! I lost at least 150* on the EGT's by going to a powerstroke intercooler. Seems pretty effective to me.

I'm sure they work there are to many intelegent people running them for it to be a worthless upgrade. I've not found anyone claiming this yet but I'm also pretty sure being able to upsize to 3" cooler tubes is one of the bigger gains in the PS intercooler. That said if your getting a custom on built I feel a properly fit to the coresuport piece would be a better option with less draw backs.

Have you checked the dealer I seem to remember them still having a listing for around the price a year or so ago.
