Injection pump leak
91 non-intercooled, noticed diesel smell today, injector pump seems to be seeping around throttle shaft or control valve. Truck still running and starting fine. Wondering if this needs to be addressed quickly or when I have time? Pump has always been dry, truck has about 160,000 on it. Thanks

It might seep for a while or it might just start pouring fuel out right away. Best just to fix it, there's re-seal kits on ebay

Should be ok to run for a bit. Sounds like you need to replace the seals in the top half of the pump. At $4.00 a gallon I wouldn't waste much.

Doesn't drip yet, just appears to be seeping. Didn't want to get stranded. Thanks again!

Do You run any fuel additives? I've see stroke engine oil stop a throttle leak before.
|
good time to add the 3200 rpm gov spring
|
Hadn't run any additives. Thought about it but hadn't decided what to run. Looked today and it is throttle shaft seeping. Any one know how hard or easy a fix that is? Thanks

look in the stickie, same job to seal fuel pin oring, gov spring will be right there, removing the cover, take time to understand the simple job it is, youll do fine.

Looked on Bosch website seal kit number wouldn't pop up. Oreilly's no good either. Any idea where to buy it. Thanks again

Got one! Thanks Again! Funny thing though drove it 200 miles today doesn't look like it seeped any more. Strange.
