Obviously you'll need something to hold it in place. Some have used vise grips on the pulley, but that can damage it, creating a rough spot for the belt to ride against. A pry bar, screwdriver or the like between the 10mm bolts on the pulley. Make a tool, or buy the fan clutch install kit from NAPA, you'll get the 36mm flat fan wrench and a serpentine pulley holder tool.

Or if you don't need to separate the fan from the clutch, you can simply remove the entire fan hub mount/fan and clutch assembly. 4 10mm bolts securing the mount to the block.

Take the big wrench and place it on the hub with the handle pointed straight up. then put a little pressure CW on it. (NOT enough to turn it.) Hit the upper end straight down with a BFH (big __UHMM_____ Hammer) while keeping CW pressure on it. It should come right off.

I took some flat iron and made a pulley holding device.

The way my tool works is I loosen the top-most FOUR bolts, a little more than the thickness of my tool.

Then, I slide the tool down and over those four bolts and snug them against the tool.

That pulley ain't going no where, while I take my home-made wrench and loosen the big nut.

The pulley holding tool is sort of a big "C" shape, with the four holes in the "C", and a LONG handle welded to the center of the "C".

I like it better than the fancy MAC-TOOL device that my friend uses, as mine CAN'T slip and chew up a pulley or belt.

this would be a good time to install a set of electric fans to free up some horsepower.

chisel and air hammer will work too, the type of force a hammer gives will knock it right off.

We get them all the time from the Chrysler dealership for dirt cheap, something like eighteen bucks or so.

There is a Chrysler "improved" version that has thicker blades or something better about it.

The original ones were somewhat flimsy.

Also, the four-bolt pattern is the same on all Dodge fans, so you maybe can use one off a gas-burner.

I just replaced my fan blade with the new one and my dealer got it for me in a couple of days, you try the local dodge service department ?

As to the fan clutch I finally took a board member's advice put the belt back on used the breaker bar to put extra tension on the belt and gave the wrench on the big nut a whack clockwise it it broke free immediately.
Ended up making my own wrench from a hunk of 1/4" steel as the fan clutch kit I borrowed from the local parts store the 36mm was sloppy on the nut.

that is correct CW aka reverse threads to remove. You'll have to chisle it off no doubt!! I took a mini sledge to my 36mm combo wrench, but I didn't have the mouth around the nut, I used the end of the wrench on the edge of one of the corners of the nut and slammed down on the wrench with the mini/hand sledge.

The big nut is LEFT-HAND thread.

I believe that would be clock-wise to loosen.

Put some anti-sieze on the new one, so the next removal won't be so dramatic.

Check your local auto parts, most of them will loan you a fan clutch wrench or you can buy them fairly cheap.

I talked my local auto parts into getting the one you stick into an air chisel, it takes longer for me to pick it up than it does to do the job.

Even Harbor Freight with their disposable tools have them.
