How much time plugged in for good results

You must of missed the part where is said it was about -10 deg out,with a constant wind chill of about -35 deg.The way the 50mph winds were blowing it was basically in the direction that it would go into the grill and hit the motor. It was only plugged in for about 2 hours that night,if it is plugged in all day or atleast 5 hours the wait to start light does not evn come on for more they 3 secs no matter how cold it is. The motor was so cold that those 2.5 hours of it being plugged in did not do much for the engine. I aint to worried about the smoke since it only smoked for a good minute or so and then it died down.

Try getting a couple old wool blankets and wrapping the blocks over-night.......Buddy of mine in Ne does that and says it saves him a lot of time and money on keeping his older JD warm.........
