grayish smoke

I've been getting grayish colored smoke the last 2 days, not much but a little bit, it will start black then go grayish/white. Only thing I have done to it lately is I did take the collar of the fuel screw and turn it in a little bit more not much cause the threads are messed up. But it ran fine after turning it up just needed the idle adjusted. So what could be the cause of this smoke? Lift Pump, injectors, or injector pump? I was going to go trade this in on Monday for a good deal on a Duramax cause I would rather have a 5spd auto than this 3spd auto and swapping in a manual or a 4spd auto is more than I want to do.

It starts out that color then goes gray. And sometime a quick jab of the throttle will give a small gray puff of smoke.

It sorta sounds like theres not enough fuel to make it completely black

It is just unburnt fuel. No worries. Turn the screw back to stock and the "problem" will go away.

Sounds normal for turning in the fuel screw. Your putting in more fuel at all throttle positions including idle. Thats why the idle speed changed. This is normal. My truck hazes a bit when its cooler.
