Gov Spring Install
Finally got around to installing my gov spring this week and I am very impressed to say the least. It didnt go quite as smoothly as expected because my friend and I ended up rounding one of the allen head bolts off. After we used an easy out to remove the rounded off bolt, everything else was simple.
I used the instructions posted here on the DTR and they were very striaghtforward. There is only one thing that I would add/change to the instructions... I found it much easier to remove and install the spring by removing the black shaft that the throttle assy sits on. It made the job twice as easy and had to fight everything a lot less. You can easily remove the shaft when you have the top half of the pump loose....Just some food for thought for the guys who havent done it yet!
As for the way the truck runs...Well, it's all smiles here!
The truck is a blast to drive, but I'm basically having to learn to redrive it. This is one of the best (and cheapest) mods I have done.

Go for it 'TH.... it is a fun mod for sure...

pastor bob....
ps: the reason I did not remove, nor did I recommend the removal of the throttle shaft is because the bushing it rides in has the inevitable wear and tear of use over the years.
I was concerned that removal would score or mark the bushing enough that it may start leaking.... just a thought...
