getrag shifting forks
After trying for a couple hours to remove shifting forks from getrag top cover, I finely figured it out. yes I guess I,m slow lol.The trick is to rotate shift rails 90 degrees after knocking roll pins out, then then remove detent pin with magnet. Then you can remove rail enough to change shift fork. If you remove rail completely there is a spring, spring bucket, and ball which will come out with great force, and fly all over the shop, ( ask me how I know). lucky I found them.. then reassemble in reverse order.. If I ever get the three spring ball assemblies for the 4th gear slider this puppy will be done. cant wait. overall pretty easy trans, and I learned a lot, thanks to DTR. but I never could find info on shift forks ,so heres my two cents, hope it helps
