getrag shifter handle mod
getrag shifter handle mod
I just acquired a 92 D250 with a getrag 5 speed. While I was driving it home it felt like the shifter handle was placed too far towards the passenger side. I'm sure it's in the stock location, but it's too far to the right for my liking. Has anybody rebent their shifter handle to angle it over towards the driver side? Or is that any aftermarket company that makes a handle similar to this?

the 92 2wd i had the shifter was close to you but i have no idea if it was bent from factory or not, my 2 that i have now are strait and i have no problems reaching it,
i think its made that way to keep you from resting you hand on the shifter while in 5th

I have an angled shifter that I want to replace with my straight one, but when I went to install the angled one it would not fit. The angled shifter has two holes that bolt up to the accompany piece that come out of the transmission. Whereas the straight one does not bolt up the same, it almost looks as if it comes right out of the transmission. So my questions is where can I find the correct lower harware?
Thanks I hope that made some sort of sense

Does your straight one thread on the "stub" that goes into the tranny?
Mine has a bend and it sure looks factory.
Yes the 93 had the bent shifter, and I think that my straight shifter is threaded, not bolted up.
