Anyone ever make one before out of something. I need one right away but cant wait on the dealer to get the parts in and I'm also cheap.

Any ideas would be great. Thanks

Go to the local hardware store or welding shop and get a piece of 18ish gauge 1.5" wide by 30ish inches long and make your own reusing the threaded end if possible. Chrysler will tell you that there are only like two of those straps left in the world and they are worth 100x what they are made out of. You can save lots of frustation by making them yourself or have someone else (ie. fab shop with a metal brake) make them for you.

You can get a suitable strap in the building department at Home Depot.
It is called SIMPSON STRONG-TIE
It is used for corner brace in construction and comes in a 25' roll

I have made straps for tanks using this as the band.

For my emergency repair, I used 1/4 chain inside a piece of 1" hose.
