Fuel Economy and tire type / size (relationship between)
The MT cost me 1.5 mph over the AT of the same size. I felt the drag as soon as I took off. The lie-o-meter reflected it immediately.
My friend's '05 lost 3 mpg going from a 285-70-17 AT to a 35-12.50-17 MT. He went to a heavier, wider, taller and much more aggressive tire. Makes sense.
