Front U-joint question

I had to replace my rear u-joints today and went to grease the fronts and i noticed a lot of play in all 3 joints, im assuming the needle barrings are compleatly gone just like the back ones were. My question is would it be easier to replace the joints, or get a new shaft, or upgrade the joints to the same as the back ones?

If you were able to do the rear then the fronts should be do able for you. The double cardan gets a little tricky but not bad. A friend helps to have around for a spare hand. Upgrading would be nice. I suppose you could buy a whole new shaft if you wanted, but I would think it would be cheaper to do the work your self.

Well i'm planning on replaceing both shafts, it looks like the po never greased them and as i was pushing out the rear joints, a couple small pieces of the ring grove broke off, and the front has been loose since before i got it
