Front leaf spring hitting frame?

Has anybody had this happen? It is the rear mount just below the drivers feet. Quite an annoying sound

Nah the springs should never hit. Doesn't matter how bad your arch is or shocks.

The problem is because you have a blown out or worn out leaf spring BUSHING. You can press them out and press in or drive in new ones in Poly or Rubber flavors.

Those are real fun! Heat the old ones up till they lite up on fire, then just push the bushing out w/ the molten rubber burning and dripping.

You're going to need a big press for the new ones. It takes some serious force to push them in.

Poly bushings usually press in pretty easy. The rubber on fire method is the best way I have found to get the old ones out.

NOPE! They don't have the lip on the edges like that. They are one piece, and they are different sizes for front and rear. They have a metal sleeve inside and around the rubber. Local Auto Parts Store will have a listing for them. I have no experience with poly bushings, but start the rubber ones on fire to get them out. I actually used a hole saw that fit between the metal sleeves and drilled them out. If the outer sleeve is stuck, cut a slit in it with a hack saw or sawzall and it will curl up and slide right out.

This sounds like fun, but its got to be easier to deal with than the BUMP BUMP BUMP sounds
Napa wants like 8 bucks for each bushing, is this high?

So after removing the stock shackle, I found out that the bushing is fine.
The springs have lost all arch and are reaching the frame, so for the time being, until I get the springs re-built, I just bought some 6" shackles, worked like a charm and raised the front end where it should be.
But...after I got the new shackles in the noise was still there! Turns out the shock mount had worked loose, 2 minute fix. Oh well

Don't forget to do the shackle bushings on the frame. You can get them from the dealer cheep.
