First kill!

So on my way home from work today I pulled up next to a BMW 525i at a stoplight. Some dude wearing fancy clothes driving it...so we leave the stoplight, and he started to get ahead of me, so I put the hammer down and so did he. He had a slight jump on me till I got up on boost, but by the time we got to 50 I started pulling on him up to 65 where I had to get out of it due to the truck in front of me. I followed him across base and even thru the McDonalds drive thru, where I kept seeing him look in his mirror and seeing this huge smirk on my face. That's just too funny...I wonder what it's like to know your little bimmer is slower than an old Dodge pick'em up truck. Well, that was my excitement for the day, just thought I'd share,

Brian

Sweet kill. What all do you have done to the truck.

Nice car too. I have a Lingenfelter powered Silvy. And a 00' Z-28 with a TR224 and bolt ons.

The only mods on the truck are 16cm housing and POD's...full fuel screw in 1.5 turns, afc spring tightened to reduce smoke till it gets into boost, and that's it. Can't wait to get the trans am to the track...aiming for 11.20's...

11.20's should be easy if you can pull a 1.60 60' or better. You may even hit a high 10 with a 1.5x 60' with that much power.

I can run mid 12's all day in my ext cab, but havent had a chance to run it with the 225 shot and slicks. I figure I may be able to hit an 11.60 at best, if the tranny doesnt blow on launch.

With the Z28 my best was 12.1@110 with a 1.53 60'. Not too bad, but not near as fun as the truck.

Nice kill. So your truck runs a 16.08 with just pump mods, PODs, and a 16cm housing?

I know right, thats awsome for the mods. One of the big things if your racing these trucks seems to be setting the shifts right. If you keep it shifting in the power band you are soooo much faster. I am still trying to get my shift linkage adjusted right so it shifts at 2600-2700 rpms right now, but it seems tricky. Nothing like HPTuners for my LS1's.

When I ran the 16.08 run, that was with the full fuel screw still in the stock setting, dunno what it'd do now with it turned up 1.5 turns like it is...the afc pin was turned about 120* and went all the way down on the afc spring thing so there was as little spring pressure as possible...track was in awesome shape, but I still had to launch at idle then put the hammer down and granny shift 3rd really easy too or I'd roast the right rear tire thru 2nd and 3rd gears. Also, she's on the governor just after the 1000' mark with the stupid stock spring, lol. I know on a good track with a posi and the 3200 spring, she'd prolly run 15.50 or better if I could get it to 60' anything better than 2.55.

Thanks. This is just making me wonder what my auto would do when its shifting right and with some mods... I see why this could get addicting.
