I would like to have helped them design the roof structure for use on our trucks.

The roads are getting absolutely terrible here in Southern California in particular the I-10 between Los Angele and San Bernardino, I-605 Azusa to Long Beach, I-57 from I-10 to I-91 Fwy they are in the process of tearing up the freeways and resurfacing them right now and the surface as they finish them shake my truck so violently I have to go in and between lanes to find the smoothest place to ride, when my lights shine upon the road surface at night you can see the peaks and valleys at about every expansion joint. I have a hard time keeping materials to stay put in the back of the truck because everything gets tossed around.

I went on the I-210 fwy today and most of it is so smooth you can drive 75-80 and take your hand off the wheel and the truck stays in its own lane.

On out surface streets as soon as they get resurfaced they will come along and dig out sections to fix gas leaks or to install reclaimed water lines and patch it leaving potholes in the once was new road

Almost like all of the roadwork is done by day-workers.

I know I have an extremely heave duty suspension but come on.. California is killing my truck.

They say it's all of the people here wearing out our roads.

Happens here too. I imagine it is a result of the rollers vibrating the **** out of everything that causes the leaks.

They paved the main road in town and the very next day had it dug up to fix a water main

Come to Michigan for a stay and you'll be thankful for what you have! Not only does salt ruin our vehicles, it destroys the roads as well

Our roads in Jersey are great.

Wait...no, they're terrible too.

Been there and lived. I bent a 5500# trailer axle in Detroit. And it was empty! You would think with the engineering up there for our trucks, the front ends would be better.

How is the ride on your truck?

Jim[/QUOTE]

If its empty, it's a bit harsh (understatement) I have new rear springs, and airbags. That helped a lot, however, I generally drive it loaded (the truck, not me!) and it rides pretty smooth.
I did call LEER and was pretty much told "we dont make those anylonger"
I got my use out of it, and considered gusseting it up, however, time, and life got in the way, and I just wussed out and bought this one. No one I could find makes new Fiberglass caps, and I wanted NO windows. I am going to put aluminum sheet on the inside because one little thing hitting tht skin is going to goof it up! The LEER was the best looking cap out there.

I live in Northrn Cal, and feel your pain! we pay the most in highway taxes, and have the worst roads. I have property in Nortern Nevada, and the roads are like night and day compared to here. I 80 is a VERY heavily traveled road, and they keep it up very nicely.
Just one more reason to hate this State.
