A few Questions...
Today when I got home I went to the garage and decided to test the smoke screw considering the truck was nice and warm. Anyhow I loosened the lock nut and turned the screw two full turns and tested it out. I got a fair amount of smoke, woot! So anyhow I turn it back the original 2 turns and when I'm tightening the lock nut, which is suppose to have 100 ft/lbs of break torque, seemingly stripped itself. I dunno what to say I never even turned it very hard and it seems as if it's just turning and turning. The screw itself seems fine but I dunno. What do I do? Oh and is there a was to tell how deep you have the screw turned by using some form of measure of the screw itself?
Also my O/D has lately been kicking in and out at times as if the TPS is telling it to downshift for a heavyload. That and on top of that the Cruise is gone. So I got figuring, could this all be a vaccum leak? When she's really warm the O/D works great but say if you hit some type of a rut it might kick out. I got underneath and checked the wire off the O/D sylonoid up to the engine to see if something might be chaffing but no, for the most part, the wires are still wrapped in electrial tape. So again, what do I do from here?

I've had issues with my VSS (vehicle speed sensor) in the past. If it gets any grease/oil in or around it, it causes the speedo to jump aroung, the cruise not to work, and erratic shifting in and out of O/D. You might try pulling it off and cleaning it up with some electric motor contact cleaner...it worked for me. A new one is around $50 if memory serves from Napa. Part number VSS100 or ECHVSS100.
Also could be your TPS adjustment. I just adjusted mine according to these instructions: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...n&onlynewfaq=1
She shifted much better when I was finished.

thats the reason you should leave smoke screw alone, its not very tough plus it really help little to make truck perform better, but to fox it i see two choices #1 replace the screw and nut#2 set it where you think its supposed to be warm it up and fine tune it, then simply add some locktite to the threads. i dont think theres a measure because every one is adjusted to fit the engine, and most engines are differant even among identical ones.
