You can end up with this noise if you have the combination of a well worn belt and a battery that starting to go bad.

1. Load test the battery
2. Load test the alternator
3. Remove and inspect the belt for excessive glazing & rib cracking;
3a. Inspect alternator for excessive end and side play & grinding
3b. Inspect alternator mounting for missing or loose bolts or for fractures to
the mounting brackets.

The BOSS just holelred that the steaks are done........LATER!!

take a good look at the belt,.....is it oily(eng or antifeeze?)
take a clean rag and wipe the belt(both sides) is it oily?

due this with the eng off tho

if there is oil, just replaceing the belt wont fix the probem cause the oil on the groves will just creat the problem again!

You need to find were the oil is coming from and fix it first!
I thing it's an oil problem cus the noise went a way with water!

the best way to to dry a belt system IMO, is with floor dry!
Just sprinkle it over a running belt, careful of the fan.
when you have made a good mess with the floor dry the belt noise will be gone!!!!

EVERY ONE THINKS I'M BUT IT WORKS WELL

Wink Putting belt dressing on the belt

Everything I've read or heard about that says not to put any kind of lubricate or dressing on serpintine belts. I don't know why, but that's what I've heard.
