Hello, the identification tag is missing from the timing case on my 92 cummins, making it really hard to get parts from cummins dealers.

Can anyone tell me where the engine serial number is stamped on a first gen block??? I was told its somewhere on the driver side but I cant seem to find it anywhere. Can anyone tell me specificly where to look??? thanks

 

I was told(by local Cummins dealer) that it was not stamped on the block, only the tag on the timing cover.

I am in the same boat as you, the tag's missing. Maybe a decent dealership could look it up based on the VIN?

 

That sucks lol. A couple cummins dealers told me there should be one, but i'v looked all over that engine with no luck. I'v talked to all the dodge dealers in my area and they cant get me a number with the vin. I guess I'll have to find someone else with a 1992 W350 and borrow thier number.

 

You ought to ask them where it's at.
