Engine code 46???? Pulsing Lights???

So could the check engine code 46 (charging voltage too high) be the source of my dreaded pulsing lights? I hear the pulsing light can be a diode in the alternator....can that be the cause of my "overcharging".

I had the same problem on my 91.5, for about three years to be exact. I had the alt. tested, it was good. I changed the VR, and still I had pulsating head lights. I even ran a ground from the alt. to the frame, and still the head lights had a pulse to them. I finally took it to an electrical shop. in about ten minutes he found the problem. A bad ground, the battery was not getting a good ground. I had even replaced both terminals, with gold plated terminals.

I hope this info might help you. Tony
