I'm having visions of Caddy Shack all over again...

i dont think our cummins engines are literally bullet proof dispite everyones claims so i would be careful with them guns..although i'd like to see a step by step repair for bullet holes in the 'sticky' section.

Nothin yet on the traps, and BTW, I was kidding with the Bill Murray scenario and the clay rats. I also failed to mention at my original post, I have a HAVAHART live catch trap right next to the truck, baited with shelled nuts and hard boiled eggs. Still nothing.

I've got the T-shirt!!!

Those darn rats LOVE silicone - ate up the 8MM Blue Max in the GTO and chewed up the secondary wiring in the trim mower a few weeks back.

Couldn't find the rat, so I shot the mower.

When I started the biz at the old ranch, field rats lived in the bunkhouse with us... you haven't lived until you get to discharge firearms indoors with good reason!

If it is a squirrel, setup a bird feeder right next to the truck. They LOVE bird feed! Then that is when the .22 comes in

I did have a squirel chew the plastic gas cap off a motorcross bike once. Never any rat problems though.

What is it with squirrels and plastic gas jugs??

I hid my saw-mill gas jugs and chainsaw jugs in the fence-row at the edge of the woods, covering them with brush.

A couple days later, I retrieved them, to find that squirrels had devoured the lids and vent-caps.

I couldn't have stomached the gas odor long enough to eat the caps.

Maybe they're huffing the fumes.

That could explain some of the antics they do.

Squirrels in my place(5 acres of oak and pine trees) don't have a long life. Once our vet told me that the tick and flea infestation was squirrel related(my wife thought it would be cute to feed the things with a squirrel feeder made to hold shelled nuts)my wife said to oust them. Out came the Beeman .20 caliber 1250 fpm pellet gun and you get the rest. One of these things made the mistake of tormenting my 3 dogs(big) for weeks. Well, .20 caliber into the shoulder weakened his grip, and down he came right into 3 dogs surrounding the tree, sort of like Sylvester the cat when he tried to get tweetie bird and fell into the pack of dogs. Well, that ended that. BTW, nothing yet in the traps since the last post. Maybe the poison finally kicked in!!
