pred- If I had a 40 deg difference, there would be no trouble. There is more like a 20-25deg difference, and little to no dehumidification. (though it may be up to 30deg, but no more).
catintenn- This is propane; pressures are supposed to be lower, which is one of the reasons I bought the stuff in the first place. No luck.
I put most of another can in it, and got my high side up to 200 @ 1000rpm, as per the FSM. That put my low side about 37-38psi, and I will go no farther, as I dont think there is any benefit to be gained. The only thing I could possibly think of (and dont you AC gurus laugh too hard, as I am not so up to snuff, so fogive me if the following inst even possible) is if the expansion valve is stuck open or partly stuck open. That would explain a lot (pressure differential not as high as it should be, mediocre cooling, taking a while [10-12min] to get cold air), and with my MO upbringing kicking in, I was too cheap to buy a new one when I had the system opened up for the IC install, and the dryer. . If I replace anything else, it is getting R134A, as I am at the break even point, and havent ridden in a vehicle with a "proper" charge of propane, whatever the heck that may be.
