Cam and gear install questions for engine build........

I'm putting the engine back together and need help with installing the cam and the pump gear. The cam and crank have dots, one has 2 dots and one has one dot, that line up when installed so I figure thats correct. But how do I set the pump gear up? There are a bunch of letters on the gear, but no timing mark.

Pics would be nice, or a diagram. I want to install the pump gear advanced one tooth also so I can run higher timing since I dont have a KSB anymore.

Thanks!

Awesome thanks! The "C" will line up between the "0 0" teeth???

I have a bunch of parts in the dish washer being cleaned, so maybe I can get the gear cover painted and on soon.

You want the single "0" on the crank to line up with the Double "0 0" on the cam gear. Then line the single "0" on the cam gear with the letter/tooth you pick on the pump gear. If you have the double "0 0" lined up with the letter on the pump gear, the pump will be 180* off.

It really doesn't matter if the "0" or double "0 0" on the cam is lined up with the "0" on the crank. The pistons will never know they are a revolution ahead or behind. (Depends weather you are a half full or half empty kind of person). But it messes things up when you throw that IP on there.

Got it, thanks! If I can get up and loosened moving I'll get the gear cover on, pump on, and maybe load a few pics of the progress. I went with a cast grey engine enamal for the motor and it looks really good. Should stand out when I pop the hood and go with the paint scheme of the truck. Plus the motor needs to look good and not leak anywhere since I wont be running inner fenders. This motor is being sealed up tight so I'll be shocked if I get any oil leak or seapage.
